THE COLUM
MINI DRIPPER.
Unmatched Flavor Precision.
The COLUM adopts the vibrant and clean flavor profile of classic conical brewers with added intensity due to it's innovative vertical chamber.
Flavor, Undiluted.
The glass chamber features our 'UNIFIED FLOW' design, which focuses water
through the coffee bed without any misdirection to produce a rich and
uncompromising flavor extraction with minimal flavor dilution.
MATERIAL
ALCHEMY.
Glass and Steel, Only.
We set out to develop a timeless product and found that this can only be achieved with timeless materials. The mini-dripper is crafted out of 100% 304 Stainless Steel, and the glass column, Borosilicate Lab Glass. Both will endure countless memorable brew sessions for years to come.
THE
MINIFILTER.
Sustainably Small
When developing the COLUM, we challenged ourselves to design a pour over dripper that produces half the paper waste.
We're starting out small, but our goal is for Mini-Filter production to shift the unused paper scraps towards recyclable pre-consumer waste rather than non-recyclable post-consumer.
Satisfying Cleanup.
The Mini-Filter holder, or Filter Ring allows for easy cleanup. We call it the plop. After brewing, wait to cool, then remove the glass column, lift the filter out of the dripper and "plop" it down into the wastebin. Cleanup has never been so satisfying.
Untainted Extraction.
The COLUM is designed with the smallest-in-class 'Mini-Filter,' at half the size of the standard filter, it drastically reduces paper contact for a Filter-Taint Free, unobstructed flavor experience.
OVER AND
OVER AGAIN.
Consistent Brews Every Time.
Pouring markers offer precise water-level cues, ensuring consistent and repeatable recipes every time.
Built for the Senses.
The glass column is flared to amplify brewing aromas, while the transparent window lets you monitor every step of the brewing process.
Modularity [Experimental Mode]
We at Melodrip enjoy testing and combining tools to explore new ways of brewing.
The Filter Ring, Glass Column, and Minifilter can be combined and used with any 60 degree conical brewer on the market (we've even jammed a few wave filters with a flat bottom as well). This method adopts the flavor profile and flow rate of the host dripper along with an increase in flavor intensity.
IMPORTANT:
Update: COLUM has arrived at our HQ on Dec 23rd! We have started sorting, cleaning, and running quality checks. This week is a national holiday so we are targeting shipments to roll out the week of Dec 30th. They will be shipped out in the order they were received, though we expect all orders to be shipped by the end of the month. Thank you for your understanding.
When melodrip is bought together with a COLUM:
USA Buyers: Your Melodrip will ship separately within 2 days.
International Buyers: Melodrip will ship together with COLUM, unless you purchase each separately.
Thank you for your understanding.
We'll keep you updated about the order here, so check back regularly or email us directly for updates.
Dec 23rd Update
COLUM has arrived at our HQ this morning! We have started sorting, cleaning, and running quality checks on all items. This week is a national holiday so we are targeting Dec 27th as the ship date for orders. They will be shipped out in the order they were received, though we expect all orders to be shipped by the end of the month.
Dec 20th Update
The sea freight has pass customs and will be shipped to our HQ on Dec 23rd. We will begin our quality checks and start shipping when postal services resume on Dec 26th. Thank you for your understanding.
Dec 13th Update
The freight has landed at the Los Angeles port and has been unloaded from it's vessel. This is good news as it's been accounted for and safely arrived. We are currently waiting for the COLUM cargo to be discharged and picked up for land delivery which may take several days. We will keep you updated as this progresses.
Dec 9th Update
The shipment is on schedule to reach the port of Los Angeles on Dec 12th. Once the vessel
arrives, it will take several days to complete the discharge process, depending
on the terminal's workload and congestion.
After the discharge is completed, the warehouse will arrange for the cargo to
be picked up and brought back for the de-vanning process. The delivery to melodrip HQ will be scheduled at that time.
In short, we expect to receive the COLUM within the 3rd week of December and ship out between then and the 4th week.
As this is our first time receiving a Sea Freight, it's our first time documenting the total delivery time. We are set to fulfill your orders within two days of receiving them.
Thank you for your continued patience!
Nov 12th Update
A quick update from our team in Taiwan:
"The Colum shipment was picked up today, and the ETA is around December 17th."
This is pallet sea freight and will be directly delivered to us in L.A. TBH this is our first time receiving a freight from a forwarder as our Melodrips are small enough to ship via air. So we are hoping to receive this without any customs hitch and expecting a ship date to your all about a week after it lands. Thank you for your patience!
Nov 8th Update
Our Taiwan team has finished packing the COLUM freight last night and is ready to get picked up for sea shipping. This freight will travel for approximately 3-4 weeks so we expect your COLUMs to arrive on our shores by the second week of December. Thank you for your patience!
October 30th Update
We are currently waiting for the last batch of Mini Drippers to arrive on Wednesday (11/6). The other Colum parts are ready for packing. We have all pieces of
Rings, Glass Colums, and Glass sticks and packages in stock. Once all pieces are inspected we will be shipping to the USA.
October 8th Update
We have checked with our suppliers and expect to receive the Colum parts by the end of October.
Additionally,
since we have strengthened the welding process of the dripper, we use “points”
instead of “lines” for welding, which makes the welding marks less visible on the appearance.
September 5th Update
COLUM fabrication is in full swing and parts will be ready for quality checks by our team in Taiwan on the 2nd Week of October.
When the parts pass QC they will be ready to be packed and shipped out by the 4th Week of October.
Sea Freight takes roughly 28days and is expected to be received the 4th Week of November.
We will receive them here and ship them out beginning the 1st Week of December.
Thank you for your cooporation.
Hands On With COlum
Frequently asked questions
Yes! You can use all 60 degree conical filters, although the prescribed fit and performance (flowrate and flavor vibrancy) may not match that of our filters.
When testing against the Plastic Kono Conical Dripper, which has a similar wall thickness as the COLUM, the peak temperature and post pour heat retention were only 3-5F apart with neither showing a clear advantage.
- COLUM total brew times are longer, thus extraction yields were higher.
- COLUM has less exposed surface area with a different structural geometry so comparisons against any dripper are not apples to apples.
